This past Sunday, Bill Belichick earned his 300th win against the Buffalo Bills. Belichick is now the 3rd coach in history to achieve 300+ regular season wins behind just two legendary coaches; George Halas (318 wins) and Don Shula (328 wins). This milestone victory comes after the breaking news of a “lucrative” new contract between New England and Belichick.
The New England Patriots have had a turbulent season to say the least. Entering Sunday the Patriots had a 1-5 record, ranked 24th in total offense and 9th in total defense. Many fans thought that turbulence would continue on Sunday vs. the Bills but Belichick and the Patriots had other plans.
The offensive line has had their struggles. Cole Strange and Michael Onwenu have been in and out of the lineup throughout the season due to injuries. Riley Reiff played a whopping 45 snaps before getting injured. The holes in the line have been filled by developmental prospects, Atonio Mafi and Sidy Sow. Prior to Sunday’s game, the Patriots had given up 13 sacks and 89 pressures. Before this Sunday, the Patriots offense looked stagnant and lacked creativity. Mac Jones has been feeling the heat as of late, but this victory against Buffalo should hush the haters for a bit.
